BATES School of Music has been in existence since 1960. The original Mrs. Bates passed on her love of teaching in the Casa de Oro community to its second owner, Mrs. Veronica Kara where she patiently waited to pass the business to its new owner, Mikaela Nenn.

 

Mikaela is ambitious, dedicated at helping students achieve the best they can and a well-rounded musician. She has been playing piano since she was 4 years old with Mrs. Kara, a highly esteemed piano teacher who graduated from prestigious conservatories in Russia. She has worked/apprenticed under Mrs. Kara for 2 years and has learned everything she needs to know about piano and business.

 

A very talented musician, Mikaela also sings and plays other instruments such as guitar, ukulele, harmonica, accordion, and violin. She has sung in a Chamber Choir for 4 years and a Vocal Jazz Ensemble for 1 year.

She has plenty of performance experience being in many recitals and concerts, solos and in ensembles as well as accompanying many soloists. She continues to perform for private events and small recitals while she continues to enhance her music education.

Mikaela comes from a family of musicians who also play a variety of instruments and have experience in singing in choir.
